John Belk is an Associate Professor of English at Southern Utah University where he also directs the Composition Program. His poetry has recently appeared in Jet Fuel Review, The Maine Review, The Madison Review, The Fourth River, Sugar House Review, Salt Hill, Poetry South, & Crab Orchard Review among others. 

 

His poetry collection, The Gardens of Our Childhoods, was selected as one of the best new poetry books of 2023 by the New York Public Library. His chapbook, The Weathering of Igneous Rockforms in High-Altitude Riparian Environments, is available from Cathexis Northwest.

 

In addition to his creative work, his academic writing can be found in Rhetoric Review, Rhetoric Society Quarterly, Composition Forum, and edited anthologies.
